Sumptuous sweater but recommend undershirt

I've completely overhauled by knitwear this year, adding many three-button polo shirts and polo necks in various colours. This was the only one I chose that wasn't made of extrafine merino. I was happy to make the exception because of its sumptuous rich blue colour, which goes beautifully with dark or mid-blue jeans, as well as more formal trousers. It was delivered swiftly in perfect order, is impeccably made, as one expects from Alan Paine, and makes a very snug fit for me, unlike some rival offerings. The only very slight drawback is that I doubt most will be able to wear it right next to their skin (if that's your habit - it is mine) without some sort of vest or undershirt, as there's definitely more of an itch factor than with finer types/grades of merino.
